Product Description
Dry type transformers are suitable for indoor installations in explosive atmospheric areas and populated locations such as malls, multiplex etc. These transformers have F or H insulation class with or without enclosure as per the site requirement.
A dry type transformer has an iron core, vacuum pressure resin impregnated high voltage windings and low voltage windings. The low voltage winding is constructed with conductors. Dupond insulating material includes an apparatus to secure the windings in place during a vacuum and pressure resin impregnation process. The result is a coil that exhibits high short circuit protection due to the tightly bond conductors comparable to completely resin encased molded transformers at a substantially reduced cost.
Application in following industries:
Chemical, Pharmaceuticals, Steel, Textile, Engineering, Plastic, Cement, Refineries, Mining, Captive Power Projects, Hydro Power Projects, Wind Mill Farms, Construction Houses, Pharma, Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, Automobile.
Advanced Fire-Resistant InsulationUtilizing Class F or H insulation, these transformers deliver high fire resistance and self-extinguishing properties, making them ideal for environments where safety is paramount. The insulation system reduces the risk of electrical fires and meets stringent industry safety standards, ensuring the reliable protection of both personnel and assets.
Flexible Installation and Protection OptionsOur dry type transformers are designed for maximum versatility, supporting both indoor and outdoor placements. With optional enclosure protection ratings (IP23, IP24, IP44), these units can withstand challenging environmental conditions, making them suitable for a wide variety of commercial and industrial locations.
Superior Efficiency and Low NoiseOffering up to 99.9% efficiency and a noise level below 55 dB at 1 meter, these transformers deliver reliable performance with minimal energy loss and acoustic disturbance. This makes them particularly suitable for settings where energy conservation and low operational noise are critical, such as offices, hospitals, and educational facilities.
FAQ's of Dry Type Distribution Transformers:
Q: How is a dry type distribution transformer installed and where can it be used?
A: Dry type distribution transformers can be installed either indoors or outdoors, depending on site requirements and available enclosure protection (IP23, IP24, IP44). They are suited for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings where oil-free operation and high fire safety are critical.
Q: What are the benefits of using a self-extinguishing insulation system?
A: The self-extinguishing insulation of Class F or H provides high fire resistance and rapid suppression of potential fire hazards, improving safety and reliability in sensitive installations such as hospitals and data centers.
Q: When should I choose a transformer with an off-load tap changer?
A: An off-load tap changer is ideal when voltage adjustments are infrequent and can be made during maintenance. It allows voltage variation (2.5% to 7.5%) to optimize performance based on grid voltage conditions without the need for live switching.
Q: What materials are used in the windings and how does this impact performance?
A: Windings are manufactured from high-grade copper or aluminum, both of which offer excellent conductivity. Copper windings provide superior efficiency and durability, while aluminum offers a cost-effective alternative without compromising essential performance.
Q: How does the transformer handle power surges?
A: These transformers are built to withstand electrical surges in accordance with IEC 60076 standards, ensuring robust protection against voltage fluctuations and transient events in the power grid.
Q: What makes dry type transformers environmentally advantageous?
A: Since they employ air as their cooling medium and avoid the use of oil, dry type transformers reduce environmental risk from leaks and are safer for use in populated or eco-sensitive areas.
